Dr. Pashupati Mahat, technical director and clinical psychologist, is leading Centre for Mental Health and Counselling Nepal since 2003 and is supporting in establishing the prevalence of mental health problems in different communities including children and adolescent, initiated child mental health project in 2005 which supports more than 127 government schools in Nepal. The project provided evidences for the importance on investing for psychosocial promotion and mitigate gap of adolescent mental health crisis as a result of poor awareness in parent, teachers and planners. He is well experienced in project management of mental health and psychosocial support in the organization, has developed competent psychologist team to implement mental health and psychosocial support projects of Gender based violence prevention and response (GBVPR), psychosocial support to families of migrant workers, school based psychosocial support, trauma healing for conflict survivors and empowering people living with psychosocial disabilities and their families. He is leading the Nepalese Association of Clinical Psychologist (NACP).
